How to use
- Paste the page's HTML source (and its URL to resolve relative image paths), or fill in the fields.
- Review the values used, the generic card previews and the checks; add the image file to preview and check it.
- Copy the generated tag block.
Worked example
A page with og:title and og:image but no og:description gets a warning; the card falls back to the meta description.
Supported formats and limits
| Input | Pasted HTML source, or the values typed into fields, Optional: the og:image file to check its dimensions, shape and file size |
|---|---|
| Output | Values used with their source tag, Card previews (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Slack, Discord, WhatsApp), Open Graph and Twitter tag block |
| Limits | Analyses HTML you paste or open. Pages are not fetched (browsers block reading other sites, and this site has no server): copy the page source (Ctrl+U) and paste it. |
| Engine | DOMParser meta tag analysis in the browser |
Limitations
- Each platform caches previews and has its own rules; the previews here are generic approximations.
- Remote images are not downloaded; add the image file to preview it and check its size (for example below 600 px wide or not 1.91:1).
Questions
What happens when a tag is missing?
Fallbacks are shown with their source: og:title falls back to the page title, og:description to the meta description and og:url to the canonical link, and twitter tags fall back to the Open Graph values. Missing tags still get a warning.
Can it check my og:image size?
Remote images are not downloaded. Add the image file and it is checked for size (under 200 px or under 600 px wide), aspect ratio (1.91:1, square or other), file size over 5 MB and SVG format.
Will the card look exactly like this on each platform?
No. Each platform caches previews and has its own layout rules, so the previews are generic approximations.
