Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. toolsdocks is a static website: tools process files inside your browser tab. A few tools contact a public service (for example DNS lookups or the speed test); their pages name the service and what is sent.

Is it really free?

Yes. There are no paid plans and no account. The site may show a few labelled ads on pages that do not handle your content.

Which browsers are supported?

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Some tools need newer browser features (for example, video tools need WebCodecs) and tell you if your browser lacks them. Check your browser.

How large can my files be?

Each tool page lists its limits. Because work happens on your device, very large files depend on your device's memory; phones handle less than laptops.

How do the AI tools work without sending my text anywhere?

They use open-source models that run in your browser. The first use downloads the model files (hundreds of megabytes for some tools) from Hugging Face; after that they are cached by your browser. A device with WebGPU runs them much faster.

Where are my saved tools, drafts and planners stored?

In your browser's local storage on this device only. Clearing your browser's site data removes them. Planners offer export so you can keep a copy. See your saved tools.

Can I use the tools offline?

Once a tool and its processing engine have loaded (after the first use), most tools keep working without a connection until you close the tab. Tools that contact a public service, and AI tools before their model is downloaded, need a connection.

Why can't I send files with a link that expires?

A link that works later needs a server to hold the file. This site has no server, so it offers device-to-device sharing instead: both devices stay open while the file transfers directly. Device-to-device sharing.

Is a drawn PDF signature legally binding?

A drawn signature is an image placed on the page. It is not a certificate-based digital signature and does not prove who signed. Whether it is acceptable depends on the document and where you are.
