Questions

Which speaking rates are used?

Presets are 130 words per minute for presentations, 150 for podcasts, 155 for audiobooks and 120 for slides, plus 238 for silent reading. You can set any rate from 20 to 1,000 words per minute.

Why can my actual delivery time differ?

The estimate is words divided by rate plus the pauses you set between paragraphs or slides. Real delivery changes with pace, emphasis, audience questions and demonstrations, so rehearse with a timer for anything strict.

How are slides separated?

In slide mode, a line containing only --- starts a new slide. Without such lines, each paragraph is treated as a slide.
