Loading tool…

How to use

  1. Choose a folder.
  2. Select treemap tiles (or folder names in the table below it) to drill into subfolders; the path above the treemap goes back up.
  3. Check the Largest files and By file type tabs, and export any view as CSV.

Worked example

The sample Downloads listing (18.4 GB) shows installers (.exe, .dmg) using 9.1 GB, the largest file type; the biggest single tile is a 2.4 GB installer.

Supported formats and limits

InputA folder
OutputTreemap with a table alternative, Largest files (CSV), Type breakdown (CSV), Folder sizes (CSV)
LimitsUp to 200,000 files.
EngineSquarified treemap over file sizes (no file contents are read)

Limitations

  • Browsers only see the folder you choose, not the whole disk.

Questions

Are my files uploaded or opened?

No. The browser lists names, paths and sizes for the folder you select; no file contents are read and nothing leaves your device.

Can I delete large files from here?

No. Browsers cannot delete files on disk. Use the largest files list to find them, then remove them in your file manager.
