Limitations

  • This is a visual check, not a hardware diagnosis. The optional flasher sometimes revives a stuck pixel, with no guarantee, and cannot fix a dead one; ask the manufacturer about warranty pixel policies.

Questions

What is the difference between a dead and a stuck pixel?

A dead pixel stays black and shows up on the white screen. A stuck pixel stays one colour and shows on black and on the other solid colours. Dust and marks usually move with your viewing angle; pixel defects stay in place.

Can the tool fix a stuck pixel?

The optional stuck-pixel flasher rapidly changes colour in a small square over the pixel, which sometimes helps a stuck pixel. There is no guarantee and it cannot fix a dead pixel. Read the photosensitivity warning before using it.
