How to use
- Add clips (videos or still images); they appear on the timeline in order.
- Select a clip to set its in and out points, speed (0.25 to 4×), mute, rotation, crop and fades; split at the playhead or move it earlier or later. Keyboard: Space, arrows, S, [ ], Delete.
- Add text overlays with start and end times, and optionally replace the sound with an audio file.
- Export. Every frame is rendered and encoded; the preview is not what gets saved.
Worked example
A 0:42 clip trimmed to 0:05 to 0:30 (25 s) followed by a whole 1:10 clip, with a 1-second fade-in and a title for the first 3 seconds, exports as one 1:35 video.
Supported formats and limits
| Input | MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, Images (PNG, JPEG, WebP) as stills, Replacement audio (MP3, M4A, WAV, Ogg, FLAC) |
|---|---|
| Output | MP4 (H.264/AAC), WebM (VP9/Opus) |
| Limits | The export is built in memory, so very long or high-resolution projects may fail on devices with little RAM. Needs a browser with WebCodecs (current Chrome, Edge, Safari 17+ or Firefox 130+). Other browsers are told so before any work starts. |
| Engine | Mediabunny decoding → canvas compositor (crop, rotation, letterboxing, fades, text) → WebCodecs encoding; audio decoded, retimed and faded in a Web Worker |
Limitations
- Export speed depends on your device's encoder; long 4K projects can take a while.
- One video track plus text overlays; no crossfades between clips (clips can fade to and from black). This is not a multi-track professional editor.
- Changing speed also changes the pitch of the sound (like a tape); mute the clip if you prefer.
- Clips with a different shape from the first are letterboxed. The project is not saved: reloading the page clears the timeline.
Questions
Is this a multi-track editor?
No. There is one video track with text overlays. Clips can fade to and from black, but there are no crossfades between clips.
Does changing speed affect the sound?
Yes. The audio is retimed like a tape, so faster clips sound higher. Mute the clip if you prefer silence.
Is my project saved?
No. The timeline lives only in the open tab and nothing is stored, so reloading or closing the page starts over. Export before you leave.
